This morning, Shamin and Betty left Durban, Kwazulu-Natal and landed at Cape Town International Airport. In Cape Town, Holiday Inn has generously given them support in providing them with complementary rooms for their stay during this part of the Children’s AIDS Health Program’s mission.
After checking in to the Holiday Inn Hotel, they headed to Barnard Memorial Hospital to get tested for HIV/AIDS in order to show everyone in the world the importance of getting tested for this virus. The importance of this procedure lies within the fact that not everyone shows symptoms for the virus and may carry on with their daily lives without knowing that they are infected. As a result, they may not receive proper treatment and may innocently spread the virus. The simple procedure of filling out a form and having your blood taken with a new, unused needle can change someone’s life forever.
